Tried it, couldn't get through it. Had the same experience, however, with Blood Meridian which, at the third attempt, I absolutely loved, so maybe I need to give Possession another try!

I read it years ago, when it was first published, and I remember I couldn't put it down. The movie scared the bejeezus out of me! Both were great - and "thriller" isn't a genre I usually enjoy!

I have a Goodreads account that I don't keep up to date, an Amazon AND a Kindle Wish List, but I most reliably keep the list on my blog. I just realized that I had limited that list to only the books that I review, so I am now beginning to include all and just link to the ones that are reviewed.

Oh, I remember struggling with Dr. Faustus - but I still think that my choice was a more difficult read!

Thanks again for getting this going. I really enjoyed finding both old and new blogger friends here. Look forward to next week!

SO excited to have a hop that doesn't include YA, paranormal, vampires, etc. Thanks for getting this going!

I loved The Good Earth - really one of my all time favorites. I COULDN'T suspend my Western sensibilities to overlook Wan Lung's treatment of O-lan, and I'm not sure that Buck expected us to do so. I do, however, believe it was a realistic portrayal of the marital relationships of that time.

I have Hilary Spurling's biography of Pearl Buck ("Pearl Buck in China: Journey to the Good Earth") in my TBR stack. Your review has made me want to move it nearer to the top. Great review - thanks for reminding me of one of my best loved books!

With all the news about bullying right now, it's actually pretty timely. Hope you enjoy it!

What a cute blog! I see you have several of my all time favorite books in your TBR pile - most notably Cat's Eye and History of Love. Have a great weekend!
