Excellent advice! I've learned that adoption is complex enough without worrying what other people think. My daughter was planned by God for our family, it just took a few twists and turns to get her here. And I'm not going to worry about what people think. If people ask "rude" questions, I try to realize that they don't realize they are rude and take the chance to educate them. I always hope I made someone more understanding and aware when they leave the conversation.

The Last Lecture is so heartbreaking to read, but so good. I read it before I was a mom. I don't know if I could do it now. I'll have to look into the rest.

I feel like my whole life is striving for someone to love me FOR who I am, not in spite of it, but only God can really love us that way, you're right! and He helps fight back the darkness.

We did a project with a hand print as a flower and a flower pot below it. It was about how moms help us grow. It is something I will treasure! Her 5 yo hand. Too quickly fleeting.

My kiddo is almost 6, so that is perfect. I just didn't want something too simplistic. Great! Thanks for the quick response.

This sounds like a really fun book! My daughter LOVES all things science. What age ranges would you say its best audience is?

My daughter really loves for me to read to her. We read The Mouse and the Motorcycle - taking long breaks because of Christmas reading and she still remembered the story and was able to draw three pictures that showed the main characters and story points. I was really impressed with her ability to do that in kindergarten. We will be reading the Little House series next!

I think the homeschooling link looks very interesting, I never have enough time to read anymore, but need to pick a few and get lost in fiction once in awhile. Good for the soul.

"Father, I'm afraid. This war has stolen so much from me. It has even robbed me of my sense of safety in my own home."

from When War Comes Home: Christ-Centered Healing for Wives of Combat Veterans. I am in the middle of writing about it for an article I'm being interviewed for. It was an amazing resource for me after my husband's multiple deployments.
