Whats this life for : Ladies Week: Alece Ronzino aka @gritandglory

So much goodness in this, Alece. I like when you talk about how yes, you know His promises, but that doesn't exactly always transfer into our reality exactly as we hope or feel at the moment. You somehow make this struggle beautiful - because, rather than be a mess (which I'm sure you are at times) you radiate beauty - His beauty when you speak. Thanks!

inprogress : you're a book worth reading...

My favorite part of this post is where you talk about how everyone's story isn't just doom and gloom but that EVERYONE has a story (and is a part of the the greatest story) of Hope and Freedom. Sharing our story, not matter how the plotline goes, is always worthwhile because God will; God does - work through the sharing of our hearts. Despite the story, when told with truth and for His glory and purpose, He brings healing to us, to others and greatest of all - draws hearts to Him. -Joel

Refine Us : Unspoken Expectations

Unmet expectations are so toxic. Someone feels a certain way or has certain hopes and is crushed when they're not met... yet the other doesn't even know what's going on! Learning to verbalize expectations, as vulnerable & scary as it may seem sometimes, has helped to springboard and grow our marriage - or rip at it if we're just ignoring the underlying (unspoken) expectations. Fortunately, we've gotten better at just putting it all out there but it's a struggle sometimes to keep the communication open and free of speculation. And with friendships, well, I'd say unspoken expectations which have turned to unmet expectations are probably a big reason that they fail. And it's a bummer every time 'cause when you look back on it, you think "if only you'd told me that sooner..." My recent post I Love Lucy

Lindsey Nobles : 5 Things I Am Doing To Rejuvenate

I love to go hiking in the mountains. Seeing as how Missouri doesn't have lots of mountains....I love to play the guitar without trying to work on writing a song..ironically, that's when some of the best song ideas show up. I love to hang with. And I really just like kicking back and watching a movie with a snack.
Spence Smith : An Email To Steve Jobs From My Mother

Spence - absolutely nuts!!! Don't know that anyone could have said it any better than your Mom! Curious to hear your thoughts on the this most recent article from PCMag.com -- "Jobs: Apple Offers 'Freedom from Porn'"http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2363851,00.a... . Despite the runaround you went through - I've got to say that I'm pretty impressed with Apple's stance in this. I don't own anything Apple except an iPod but this article makes me want to do business with them all the more. Appreciate your blog brother! -Joel

Refine Us : I Can't Outrun It

Wow - have I been there! Loving God and Loving my life and being absolutely sapped of strength and energy and fervor...with zero chance of relief. I think the prayer that's worked for me in these cases goes something like this... "Lord, is there something you're trying to show me that I'm choosing to not pay attention to are tring to get me to take some time to be refreshed by You?" If you sense that He wants your undivided attention for a few hours, a day...a few days.., do it. God will really honor that time that you set aside to refuel and recharge, to gain perspective and most of all - to listen to what He has to say to you and about you with undivided attention. Praying for your heart brother and that you are refreshed!!! God bless!-Joel My recent post SundaySetList
