I think many atheists, and young evangelicals for that matter, are upset about many of the same things. As a theist, I watched this video and was like, ya, I'm angry about all of that stuff too. For me, I'm through with religion, for her, she's through with God as well. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I thought the video was great though, and I really think she hit the nail on the head when she said religion doesn't have a reality check. Because it's based on invisible forces, and immaterial things, you can never completely disprove it. That is dangerous. I wrote about it on my blog. www.goddamblog.com

It's sad that "coming out atheist" carries such a negative connotation. As a theist, I'm appalled at the way that my fellow Christians treat those who have "fallen away from the faith". When I sit down and think about it, many atheists have a lot more in common with many young evangelicals than most people like to think. The similarities are numerous, and if we could sit down and talk them out, we would find that we are fighting many of the same battles, just coming from a different angle.

In my opinion most churches have a good vision, a many churches have a good strategy, few churches define reality, some churches give hope, and some execute but very few churches bring the whole package.
