They are right that it's rarely mentioned that more equality equals more growth. I think the problem in the US is that the perception of equality it tied to the idea that in order to achieve equality, you have to take something hard earned from the haves and give it for free to the have nots. That will never fly in a capitalist country.

This is so spot on. Even though there is a ton of stuff published on crisis management, it's amazing how frequently both people and corporations muck it up. The recent Hilary email scandal ...her lack of transparency. Without the leg up from a bumbling Kevin McCarthy, it well could have sunk her. Still might. My favorite is the rehab thing. OMG really? There's such a thing as rehab for sexual addiction? Come on now people.....

Very enligtening post! It's easy to forget the stuggle of women in business here in the US, where things are so vastly different. Of course you paved the way, opened some doors! Nobody could be surprised at that! But I think other developed nations have a bit less struggle, as the dogma of their politics is less tied to the dogma of their reliogious faith. For that reason, I think they may be bit slower to get there, but they will get there. I enjoyed this immensely!

Catarina, this is currently giving me real nightmares, I'm not kidding. This has the potential to bloom into another World War if our leaders don't pull it together.

So astute! Of course calling things evil is the easiest way to not do anything about it, get to the root of it, or find a solution. It's almost like God, for some of these people, is like Santa Clause...brings you anything you wish for, only has more power. Don't get me wrong, I think there is evil...but you can't call it out and shrug. like a shrug is the answer.

She's so articulate. I enjoyed the video very much and though I like the idea of knowing where the ball is going, it's pretty challenging to surmise what the future holds, given the leaps and bounds technology continues to take. Si I would agree that flexibility is key, in addition to those hard decisions including creative destruction!

Oh yes...just a hair's difference between success and failure and both require risk. Safe is cozy, many folks still achieve success while wrapped in that blanket and that shouldn't be minimized either. After all, success is wildly different for everyone. But the big guns, the true innovators, are definitely the big risk takers and as you mention, they've all stumbled on the way up.

I always wondered what people meant when thy called me a thought leader! LOL And that was years ago! But I have always believed in collaboration, sharing, and learning from everyone's experiences! So often it is a hybrid of many idas that turns out to be a winner:) Fabulous post!

I have always had a different perspective on philanthropy. Franky, if I had billions of dollars I'd donate a ton if it anonymously. The idea that the goal is recognition, and more business is distasteful to me. Perfectly wonderful if it is an unintended consequence, but the idea that anyone donates a ton of money so people with think more highly of them or buy their products, to me, is not a good intention at the get go. It negates the true purpose and sometimes we never hear of the results because the emphasis is on the donor.

Had to laugh at the sex in marketing. Though I am not opposed in the least, I do think it needs to be product specific. In other words, I'm not sure that sex and diapers, or baby food or really anything with sex and children mix at all:) But it's hard NOT to love a cowboy. And Richard Branson is the original cowboy in my book. Love him:) But I also think people should be aware before they think that his methods can work for them, that not everyone is blessed with raw intelligence. He is one smart cookie.
