Our first “political rally”. We saw hundreds of “middle” Americans. Not extremists. Not radicals. In common, every one there knew that our elected officials were not listening to the needs and interests of the people who had voted them into office. Many brought their children because they wanted to make the point that the bad decisions being made in Congress were going to effect not only us, but our children and their children. They also brought their children because the freedom and liberty of being citizens in the United States of America, and voicing our interests, is a lesson that is not taught and shown them nearly enough today. Too many of them have lost their honor, their honesty and their sense of right and wrong. They sell their votes among themselves for funding to run their re-election campaigns and to make sure that their cronies get large grants and large contracts from the government – they sell and trade special deals, exemptions, and pay-backs. They use our tax dollars to buy more power for themselves. The big plans they are voting into law do not make sense. These big plans will have real consequences that far outweigh any good that they might do. They say "Here is a Problem" - and then pass laws that do not address the causes and roots of that problem - they just extend and expand government's reach and bring more problems into being. Solve the known problems before creating new unknown consequences!
