I don't like sharing my heavy stuff on the internet, so, thanks for being such a reliable distraction when one was needed.

And thanks for sharing YOUR heavy stuff, because I think I can safely speak for others beside myself when I say it helped me say the right things to friends in tough spots.

Toast, I think I found a way to articulate what I love about y'all.

This isn't the first place I've found where I can go, "Is this just me or....?" and have people say "Oh no, it's me too."
But it's the first place where it felt like every article was a big "Is this just me or...?" and the comments all felt like a collective "Oh no, it's me too." Even when there was disagreement.
And it's the first place where no jerk was permitted to pop up and say "Yeah, it's just you. The real world definitely doesn't work that way."

See you tonight, if you're a Chicago Toastie who can make it to the toastwake (Parts & Labor in Logan Square). Otherwise, I look forward to continuing the conversation on the slack or twitter.
