WMPoweruser.com : Unlocked emulator image for latest Windows Phone 7 version now available to download

Yeah, because the way Android implements copy/paste is outstanding. And its not sad that Android has been around for about 3 years and it still doesn't provide an elegant way to copy/paste. And lets not forget that its still a horribly designed OS that pays no attention, what-so-ever, to little details that make huge differences when put together.

WMPoweruser.com : IBM: Smartphones and tablets to be primary enterprise devices, has no plans to support Windows Phone

I dont think IBM is out of touch with reality, I think they understand very well what MS is trying to do with WP7 for maybe its first year, which is to cater to consumers first, business users second. IBM predicts that in the next 3-5 years smartphones/tablets will be used primarily by businesses, and that is likely. And its also likely that MS, with Windows 8/Windows Phone 7.x, will be front and center of all of this at that point in time.

WMPoweruser.com : HTC HD7 coming to Bell Canada

This also means that a Windows Phone 7 device will be the first smartphone in Canada that has a 4.3 inch display, believe it or not (yeah, Canada's offerings are pretty sad). Thats pretty good news because this device will probably get some special attention due to the screen and the fact that WP7 makes peoples jaws drop when they see it in person.

WMPoweruser.com : Microsoft brings Full Windows to ARM chipsets, somewhat missing the point

Please don't jump to conclusions. There is an entire group within the Windows team called the "Windows Experience" (or WEX) that forces solely on User Experience design. Microsoft knows very well and has heard loud and clear that people want a user experience designed for the form factor. And I didn't see that quote from Sinofsky anywhere else. Disappointed in this poor journalism from WMPoweruser.

WMPoweruser.com : Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore “happy with Windows Phone 7 sales”

Yep, the guy who's running the engineering team in WP7 (Terry Myerson) led the Exchange team to world domination and knows all about what the enterprise needs/wants. Although it was smart for Microsoft to prioritize for the consumer for v1.0 of WP7, because most businesses are deploying Blackberrys anyways, for now.

WMPoweruser.com : AT&T excited about Windows Phone 7, pleased with sales

Confidence in early sales of brand new platform doesn't mean much. Confidence in the actual product your making matters more. Did Android come running out of the gate being hugely successful? Nope, I don't think so, it took them 1.5 years to ONLY start gaining momentum. Its amazing that WP7 has only been out for 4 weeks and everybody is screaming failure because nothing on sales has been reported, again, Google didn't even talk about Android success until far after the Droid was released, those guys went a year without saying anything on Androids success and everybody who wrote them off suddenly forget that they did so later on. Get a grip of reality, people.

WMPoweruser.com : Will Microsoft ever get the consumer?

No, I personally have not used a WHS, but I get why people love it. Although unfortunately, Microsoft hardly even touts it as a consumer product or even advertises it (with Windows and Windows Live, for example). If you wanna talk about issues that MS has, its that they sometimes dont push hard enough when it comes to products that may have great potential. The Zune players are a classic example, but the Zune is going beyond that now, as is the whole market for MP3 players. I think its all about the people running the product team, you need people who have vision and are willing to push the executives to follow through on something, the WP7 team have those kinds of people.

WMPoweruser.com : Will Microsoft ever get the consumer?

Wow, talk about over-reacting. Windows Home Server was meant to be a consumer product - and I know that many people love it - but the reality is that its just not a consumer product at all. It is a product for technical enthusiasts who like the idea of physically messing with a small server in their home. Coupled with the fact that everyone - including Microsoft - is moving to the cloud, WHS doesn't make much sense for your average consumer. And then there is the TV thing. If you think Microsoft is the only one who isn't getting anywhere with their TV strategy, try looking around the industry. EVERYONE IS FAILING AT MAKING SET-TOP BOXES GO ANYWHERE. You also brought up Xbox 360, which is in fact more successful than Apple TV or Google TV ever will be, there are 50 million+ Xboxes out there, and with Kinect, that will reach Wii-like numbers. This is all too exciting considering the fact that the Xbox 360 is only 10 times more powerful the Apple TV and Google TV boxes combined. So please, stop being a drama-queen and move on, the WHS story is sad for the many technical enthusiasts who enjoy that product, but it doesn't mean Microsoft doesn't understand the consumer (for goodness sake, look at the Metro design language, it is too often under-looked, that Microsoft designed something that is more consumer friendly and innovative than what Apple has is amazing, and should be the story of the year).

WMPoweruser.com : If Microsoft launches Windows Phone 7 and doesn’t promote it, will it sell?

I think the important thing that your forgetting is that Smartphone platforms don't become recognizably huge success stories over-night. It took both Android and iPhone a little over a year to reach that status. Momentum for the platform, on a technological view, is already there and its only going to grow more dramatically the next couple of months. As for sales, don't expect WP7 to blow away its competitors over night, because thats unrealistic for any platform.

You don't think iOS and Android fanboys are spamming the poll? Hell, look at Android! Nobody even knows what Android is because its so fragmented that the name of the OS doesn't even exist on most phones or is rarely ever even seen. This poll is clearly about a war between fanboys, not what consumers think. (Consumers wouldn't even care in real life, they have better things to worry about).

He never said he wasn't a big fan of Windows Phone 7. He said that Verizon`s relationship with Microsoft is good and that there are 3 big platforms right now because WINDOWS PHONE 7 HASN'T EVEN LAUNCHED YET! How could he say that Windows Phone 7 is a big platform in terms of market-share when it hasn't even launched! And of course WP7 isn't at the forefront of their minds because it hasn't launched AND CDMA support wont come until early next year!

WMPoweruser.com : Windows Phone 7 browser surprisingly good

Microsoft said on the IE Mobile blog that they have the ability to update the rendering/layout engine automatically at any given time, without any user interaction. So, yeah. To to say that IE Mobile in WP7 is based on IE7/IE8 would not be entirely accurate. The reality is nobody knows what specific features it has. And even if we do know, Microsoft has the ability to change and add more features at any time. After watching this video, we don't have to worry too much about IE Mobile, its in good hands.
