The Blazing Center : Now That's Interesting! Don't Have Your Quiet Time, How To Write A Great Novel, Don't Provoke the Um

I'm so glad to see George getting some recognition. I got to know his family about 8 years ago and they are great folks! I saw George give a cello recital and knew he was bound to do great things.

Daniel Darling : Chick-fil-A and the Mosque

Glad I'm not the only one thinking this way! I wrote last week about the need for those who are serious about protecting religious freedom (particularly here in middle TN) to be as passionate (or more) about the rights of Muslims to worship freely as they are about Dan Cathy's right to an opinion. But I can tell you for sure that a lot of the anti-Mosque Christians around here were at Chick-Fil-A last Wednesday.

The Blazing Center : Why I Did NOT Eat at Chick-Fil-A Yesterday

Ironically, I got called a "Chick-Fil-A hater" by folks at my own church (who actually missed church last night because they were waiting in line for chicken) for writing something similar on my blog a couple days ago. It's madness! But you're right on.

The Blazing Center : New Study Finds That 95% Of Nerdy White Christian Men Claim to Love Rap

I'm a nerdy white Christian guy who proudly admits my love of Christian hip-hop. In fact, I direct a choir of 4th-6th graders (most of whom have nerdy, white Christian dads) that will be singing/rapping a Shai Linne song in service next Sunday night. Pretty excited about that!

The Blazing Center : Why Words Matter In A Worship Song

The desire to combine theologically sound lyrics with great melodies is one of the things I appreciate most about Sovereign Grace Music. Take for instance the song "Before the Throne of God Above." Amazing lyrics, but for over a century it languished forgotten and unused, with the lyrics set to the same tune as "Sweet Hour of Prayer." Along comes Vikki Cook with a beautiful new melody, and all the sudden Christians everywhere are singing these timeless truths to one another. What a benefit to the Church!
