My homeschool has used the classical method the whole way through. The week before my oldest started high school, I threw out all my detailed plans for the next year, borrowed a friend's copy of Classic Tapestry of Grace, and switched from TWTM approach to TOG's classical unit study approach. What a life-saver! That spur of the moment decision was one of the best choices dh and I have made during our homeschool years.

I've found, with my friends and I, we've adapted our approach as we entered the high school years, but the core of our homeschool remained the same. :-)

Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed reading about the different methods of homeschooling the high school years.

My favorite go-to resources for homeschooling high school are Tapestry of Grace and The Well-Trained Mind. TOG allows me to keep all 6 of my children on the same history theme each week. TWTM gives me the freedom to tweak to suit each child's preferences and my goals. Also my library, like yours, has been a life saver for us.

Thank you for the recommendation for Homeschool Connections. I'm off to check it out!

Flexibility is the key! We've needed to change plans to allow for changing interests and goals and change schedules to work around various activities. My daily work is lighter for high school but my life is more discussion intensive. It's very different than teaching phonics to my preschoolers. Thank you for the great post and the checklist!

I love the recipe to make play dirt! My little 3yo has a set of animals and dinosaurs he'd love to play with in the home made dirt. We even have chick-peas to throw in. Thank you for the wonderful idea.

I love the idea of adding blocks to play dough. My little ones love to play with play dough and taste it as well, so I appreciate the salt-dough recipe. Thank you!
