I love this. Usually these types of posts aren't very practical but this one is. And lots of good options.

I have to laugh because I tell my daughter-in-law all the time that there are three really important things:

1. Eating regular meals - not even necessarily perfectly healthy - just EAT!
2. Sleep. Go to bed at a reasonable time and get up at a reasonable time. There's nothing like an adequate night's sleep.
3. Weather. Unfortunately we don't have any control over this one. But I've mentioned to her often that the weather affects everyone's mood & energy level. When we've had a bunch of cold, dark, yucky days - everybody struggles.

But these three things make a huge difference on productivity along with the other things you mentioned. I think setting priorities is extremely important, too.

These are GREAT questions. I feel like quitting my blog at least every six months. I think I'll print these questions to go over each time I get the urge. I especially like #8.

So true! It's amazing how often people talk, talk and talk without ever showing interest in the other person.

I read a story in Readers Digest years ago about a man who was attending a work dinner but he had just had dental surgery and couldn't really talk. He sat next to the boss's wife and she talked to him the whole time. He wasn't able to talk back but he responded with grunts and uh huh's at the appropriate times. The next day, the boss said that his wife said this guy was the best conversationalist she had ever met. But he didn't get to say a single word!

I agree completely. I'm one of those people who lost a bunch of weight on Weight Watchers and then gained most of it back. It took a while, but it still happened.

Unfortunately, when they said "lifestyle", for some reason, I didn't quite get it. And I didn't understand that the things I was doing to lose the weight were things I would have to KEEP doing. I don't know how I missed that - they do teach it. Anyway, I'm giving it another try but doing it the way you outlined.

Prioritizing is the one I'm working on. I like to do things when I want to instead of the important things first but that strategy hasn't been working so well. So now I'm trying to do the most important things first & then fit the rest of it in around those.

Isn't that the truth! Attitude is a decision. I've played that game before where I'm out and someone does something obnoxious and I try to imagine all the acceptable reasons they'd be behaving that way. it really does help.

So true! When you keep it quiet, you can quit without any consequences. But when everyone knows . . .

I SO agree! Just because the calendar changes to January 1st doesn't mean I'm magically ready to tackle all that stuff I didn't want to do yesterday. I do like clean starts but I do them at the beginning of each month and my goals are much more reasonable.
