I've been high risk due to a blood disorder with both of my pregnancies.

The first time around with Mr J, we did everything the doctors told us to do. We felt like they were the "experts" and we knew nothing. Let's just say we got a healthy baby out of the deal but how we felt about it afterwards could NOT be described as empowered.

On lovely Ms P, we did our best to minimize the number of any interventions (including ultrasound) within reason. We asked a lot more questions and thought through all the suggestions from doctors before we made any decisions. Ultimately, they both ended in C-section but even the experience with that was miles different.

Good job on you of taking the time to educate yourself and do what you feel is right with your baby. I hope all pregnant women eventually get to the same point. (Have you checked out Birth Without Fear? I'm a big fan).
