Yes, public school is fantastic. That's why they give you more school (detention) as punishment.

There is already private security, mediation and arbitration, and they work fine. Also, Stefan Molyneux has a lot of good ideas how this would work (even better) in absence of a state using insurance companies.

There are some exceptions, but unfortunately, I think the overwhelming majority of TV shows and movies contain pro-government propaganda. It seems like you can't watch an episode of anything without being passively re-educated.

You can differentiate between a Jeffersonian-Misesian-Ron-Paulian-minarchist and a Rothbardian-anarchist, but you are a amateur libertarian? That gave me a chuckle :) I'd say you're way beyond amateur status.

There are a lot of great articles here that explain why health care is so expensive in the US, and I'll save you some time and tell you it's not because of the mythical free market; it's because of government intervention. The reason you need insurance to get in the hospital is also because of government intervention. When the gov put in wage caps back in the day, employers offered insurance as a way around the law... thus the monster was created. I really wish I could explain more, but there are articles here that do a better job, and I'm short on time.

US health care is not privatized. 90% of the hospitals are strictly regulated by the government. That's the string that comes attached when they accept federal money. Also, the US spends more federal dollars on health care per capita than Sweden, and then there is private money/insurance on top of that.

I'm an American living in a Swedish city with a hospital that serves about 150K people. I had an emergency around midnight, went to the ER, and was told to have a seat. I waited until 5 in the morning before I finally asked what was taking so long, and they said there wasn't a doctor on duty until 9 AM O_O
