The Broke-Ass Bride : My Wedding Kryptonite: Glitter

Great idea! Viki suggested putting some kind of shellac on them. I'm letting her solve the problem because delegation is key to happy wedding planning.

The Broke-Ass Bride : {DIY or DIE} Even More Broker-Ass Brooch Bouquet

Maybe! But I am not using flowers for aesthetic reasons too. My color palette is mixed metals and flowers can't really accomplish that. So this was the most cost-effective yet still awesome way I found to have my bridesmaids still carry something.

The Broke-Ass Bride : {Can't Afford It/Get Over It} Grace Kelly-Inspired Gowns with Sleeves

For a while I was avoiding this series to prevent regrets about my dress, but I, to borrow an expression "got over it," and I am so impressed with your selections/fascinated with the results. Sometimes you can see where the money goes into expensive dresses, and sometimes it is a total mystery. Keep up the great work, Britt, and I hope you find the dress of your dreams, Melissa!

The Broke-Ass Bride : Battling My Inner Four-Year-Old

Thank you for these great suggestions. Making my own pockets sounds like a lot of work but I am looking into it. As for pre-cutting the invitations, that was in my original budget, but then I remembered my sister-in-law is an art teacher and I can probably exploit her school's paper cutter.

The Broke-Ass Bride : {Can't Afford it/Get Over it} A Groom's Request for His Bride

I saw that dress in Brides magazine last month and gasped, because the neckline looks just like the neckline on my altered dress. I bought Blue by Enzoani's "Bria" dress (I think it retails for something like $1250? I got a discount for buying the store's sample), but am having one of the lace halter straps tucked across the chest to create the one-shoulder look. But, fair warning, radical alterations aren't cheap. I'd check out Britt's brill suggestions first! Good luck.

The Broke-Ass Bride : Give your girls gifts they'll love

I honestly think the best bridesmaid gift I ever got was a bag of makeup. I would love to repeat the favor for the ladies in my bridal party, but it still leaves a big ? about the dudes, and I'm not super keen on gender-specific gifts for the bridal party to begin with.

The Broke-Ass Bride : Location, Location...Location?

We paid the deposit for our venue today, and it's such a great feeling. It makes the wedding feel so much more real! Our venue search felt endless and fruitless, and we ended up walking into our venue (a restaurant) on whim to fill time between appointments. I fell in love with it immediately. It took about a month (in which we did a lot of budget math and calendar testing) to get from "let's get married there!" to "we are getting married there!" I mean... provided the Monongahela River doesn't flood and destroy the place...
