Love this pattern and it sewed up so fast - great fun and I got to use up one of my charms packs that's been sitting around forever. Because of all of the consternation about the measurements and a lot of it depends on what size charm pack you are using, I left cutting any of the white background pieces until AFTER I pieced together the Dresden plate and the strips of rectangles.
Once I had the four strips of rectangles sewn and pressed, then and only then did I cut my center background piece to fit whatever the strip measurements came out to be. Worked perfectly and best of all......no math.
