The absurdity of this is beyond measurement. Another book from some non-theologian fool who thinks he knows something. "Mark Fulton is a practicing physician on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. His practice focuses on preventative holistic medicine." Holistic medicine" - the kind of quack stuff that Jim Bakker touts and promotes. NO training in theology, evidently - or even history. And it shows in every absurd statement he makes in this article, beginning with the very first sentences "I think that the Roman government was the driving force behind Paul’s pagan propaganda (which became the Christian theology.) The fact that belief in the divinity of Jesus arose in many diverse areas of the empire a number of decades after Jesus’ death suggests to me that it came from a central source, and it wasn’t Jesus’ Jewish friends in Jerusalem". Too bad this guy (1) obviously lives in a fantasy, believing that Christianity just popped up in various places and, (2) obviously knows absolutely nothing about the Jewish Diaspora. There is no use in belaboring any of the rest. This guy is full of nonsense. This is a pseudo-history written by someone who probably barely got through high school history class, if that. But, I am willing to bet his book will be a best-seller because nonsense is about all Americans will buy, as far as I can tell.

Too bad angry atheists seem to always have to resort to the "Jesus was never real" scenario. It actually does little good to stand on this false premise than to simply acknowledge that he was a real man, but not so much the man portrayed in the gospels, etc. And to claim that there isn't enough evidence for his life is preposterous to anyone other than those with closed minds. In addition, to propose that Apollonius of Tyana was real, but Jesus wasn't, is its own special kind of logical fallacy. Mr. Paulkovich, was John the Baptizer real? How about Mani the prophet? How about Marcion, after all (whom you seem to accept without too much evidence of his reality)? What about Muhammed? After all, he left on writings himself and was only written about around 100 years after his death - and then mainly only in the Quran and the Hadith (later). I think you really should have stuck with aerospace engineering rather than dabbling into theology, with no formal training in it. in the mean time, you are welcome to read my blogs on the subject.
