Atheist Revolution : Can the Hapless Democratic Party Deliver What We Need?

As a marketing guy, I know how hard it is to massage two audiences at once. In this case, Biden would like to energize the vocal minority of the far left as well as appeal to moderates who have a vague distaste of Trump. The result is...maybe hapless. The far left doesn't like that Biden isn't promising more and the moderates don't like that Biden is promising too much. The far left is mad he's not attaching Trump harder, the moderates would like to see more "going high." Trump can nail his message because he is talking to his base. He'll still get the voters who don't like the "libs are the enemy" divisiveness, but those people aren't watching his speeches or reading his tweets. They just are worried about socialism or defunded police or pro-choice Justices.

Atheist Revolution : Saying Goodbye to Google

Going to miss it. Honestly, I'm only active on my blog and Twitter again because Google+ is closing. It was my outlet for a long time and there are some great atheists and Christians on there. Oh well, nothing lasts forever.

I grew up a Christian Scientist, so I can somewhat relate. I don't think my parents would have let it go that far with me. They were believers, but liked to hedge their bets. My mom died last year from cancer and her faith did harm her. First diagnosis was late, due to not wanting to seek medical help. Chemo helped, so much so that she was close to back to normal...at which point she stopped treatment before she should have stopped treatment and it came back worse.

Thanks. I was actually pretty active on Google+ (for some reason). Now that it's going away, I'm getting back into Twitter and a little bit of the blog.

I don't know why people give words so much power. They are pixels on the screen or sounds from the mouth. Actions can be offensive, but words? Not to me.

Atheist Revolution : We Lost a Couple of Good Atheist Blogs

Yeah, I like both those guys too. I figure there is an off chance they'll be back like a bunch of other atheist blogs that closed shop...temporarily. It's hard to post often, but it's also hard to give up entirely.

The bible is so-so at fulfilling prophecies that are fulfilled IN THE BIBLE. It's awful at fulfilling prophecies that were to come after, like Jesus' return. But, hey, we just haven't given enough time. (despite the many references implying it should have happened long ago.)

I really thought anti-vax and climate change denying were largely unmotivated by religion, but I think I was naive. In my last few exchanges with these people it quickly because about God. I'm reading a book called Survival of the Sickest, very interesting on the evolution of disease.

Bitch Spot : Bitchspot's Book Corner

I would do a list like this, but mine would be much shorter. I have more general science stuff than atheism stuff. Ever try Michael Shermer? He writes well, but he narrates his own audiobooks and makes me fall asleep.

So many have finally given up evidential apologetics entirely. Why they think that there is any other way to defend a belief about reality is beyond me.
Bitch Spot : No End to the Questions from Theists

Great answers as usual. I'll give credit to these questions for at least being specific and not too overdone. They are all trying to get at something that we've seen over and over, but phrased in a more sophisticated way. Still, anyone who has given any thought to their atheism should be able to answer reasonably.
I've heard so many different definitions of God, I think the only universal is that he/she/it is the universal creator. From there, almost nothing can be agreed upon by the majority of theists.
