A very insightful post! And sometimes, the things you need to change your mind about to be happier are so simple - just looking at one small thing about your life that irritates or upsets you differently or figuring out ways to have less of that thing in your life. Wonderful post as always, Marcia!
Jennie, I most certainly do! I get so focused on "did I write enough this week?" or looking ahead and thinking that my life isn't complete until I can say I'm a published novelist. I'm trying to be more aware of how much I have to be happy about in the NOW - a partner I love, a great family, fun friends, my favorite time of year weather-wise and the fact that I have actually discovered a dream I like to chase. It is so important to keep looking towards the future while also living and loving in the present. Great post!
Big goals take a long time to achieve and are often hard to assess along the way. But it sure sounds to me like you've made progress and are chipping away at them, so cheers to you!
Have never seen "Answer Man," but it sounds like the kind of film that speaks to me - I love that quote and it makes me think about how I should live life. Great post! I see a movie night in my near future : ).
Wow - I'm deifnitely adding Hunger Games to my reading list (if I ever finish Song of Ice and Fire lol)! I've always tried to listen to my dreams - the odd encounters or situations in them usually point to fears I'm suppressing or things I'm not doing that I should be. Wonderful post Jess!
