Ooooooh this concept is super cool! I'm going to check this out when I get the chance because I'm a sucker for music and I'm a definite firm believer that there are some scenes in books that inspire a song to be written.

"When four bloggers tell you to read a book, you don't resist it, you don't put up a fight, you just read it." Yes, listen to all of us awesome people. If you resist and fight, we'd just fight back, lmao. (Probably wouldn't. Just persist.)

Agnes was fun and honestly, I was sad about the lack of page time, too! Hopefully she'll appear in the final book, but I don't remember if she makes an appearance in the second book or not. I didn't enjoy Dax even though at the beginning I DID. And there were times were I just wanted to well... walk away from Dax, but seriously, the technology and twists were entirely the reason why I continued going and loved as much as I did (I didn't care for Cole either).

Ahahahaha you tried, Ruby! That's all that matters! (You've definitely been watching too much, though.)

Wow holy shit, since 2006! "It wasn’t lack of inspiration to write, that made me move on from it. It was me growing up and not having the same passion for it as I once had." I think this was the same for me with my gaming blog, and why I shut it completely down rather than taking that audience and just rebranding (didn't make sense either). I completely agree there weren't many blog around that time, I think they just started to become a thing? I don't know.

"I truly believe my mental health would not be the way it is today had I not started this blog." SAME. I'm not sure what would've happened if I didn't start blogging either... (and then I also would've have met you either, so there's that. Truly, we should've met earlier as baby bloggers, Ruby. Now all we can do is grumble with our canes and wave them around while talking about sad memories that are also good. So many people have left! Gahhhhh).

OMG yes I love it when time travel goes wrong in a book, because then the characters are going, "what the actual happened I need to fix things STAT before I somehow kill someone I care about" and then they're just scrambling around. It's great until you're the character.

The Guild Codex series has such a good friendship bond, though, at least at the moment... there might be some romantic tendencies, but they have great chemistry (and it's a group of friends). Honestly best friends with great chemistry minus romance is something I want more of (but they usually end up together in the end, which sucks).

Also I second Kal with parents being alive. 95% of our parents in reality are alive? OH. For those, American Panda and Our Wayward Fate have parents that are very much alive (can't say the same for good relationship kind of sort of, though).

*rubs hands evilly* It's been a month and I'm hereeeeee!

Anyways I didn't know about your ARC ban for a year. A YEAR. Wow, I can't really imagine that happening - maybe a few months or permanently (if you quit) but not for a year. I've definitely done a few ARC bans, or limited ARC bans - I think currently I'm on a limited ban just to give myself some leeway with the books I TRULY TRULY want. Plus, it hasn't been helping that everything seems to happen when everything is publishing??? I always try to sign up for blog tours for copies I DO have a copy of - like with Shadow Frost. If I sign up for the tour and am accepted, I HAVE to read the book?

But I do agree with your point about missing out on older releases, and honestly, that's a sad but true thought. There's been a few releases from 2016 that I had an ARC of but never got around to and I sometimes regret it later (but 2016 was a rough year so it's excusable).

*pat pat* It's okay, Ruby. I've had a love/hate relationship with reading and didn't exactly fall in love with reading until around 11? I guess? I don't know, it wasn't "born out of the womb head over heels in love with reading." I'd probably auto-buy Julie Kagawa and Gloria Chao (at least the ones I can think off the top of my head). Also Marianna Zapata; I still need to read her books and fall in love with her slow burns.

Dang, Ruby, 2843 books?!?!?!? Wow, I thought my TBR was bad before I went through it. I read Seeds of Discovery and while I LIKED it, I didn't love it? I still need to read the sequels, though.

Oooooooo have fun with the audiobook review tour!!!! Just so you know, you should stay away from Kal. She'll add to your TBR shamelessly and will have no regrets.

Ah, code, a grand time! I used to prewrite ALL of my posts in HTML because my only access to blogging was at school. 😂 I've got to agree though - it definitely cut down on time AT school.
