"Karen, the invariably cheery yet socially awkward T. Rex, was the plan’s wild card."

Maybe this is where I can reveal my heart's desire: next season, Arya reunites with Nymeria, and when she hugs her again, suddenly she's rid of the desire to be a murderhobo.

I was just talking to a co-worker (I work in a hospital) about doctors' names that sound like superhero names: Doctor Justice, Doctor Odin, Doctor Stoneking, etc.

Still pretty bummed that Jessica Williams didn't get/take the Daily Show lead job, even though she said that she wasn't really interested.

Well, maybe one day he'll ignore the bit about the bear. To his detriment.

Another Metatoaster here; one of the things that I really like about MeFi is that it can have a reasoned conversation about itself (via the MetaTalk section), which is not the same as saying that all such conversations are equally well-reasoned, but still. And there are, as you note, still some problematic areas (just about any thread having to do with fat, for example), but things are improving, as can be noted by going back to just about any post 10+ years ago.

- Really agreeing with AaM. This part in the letter really got me: "The worst part is that just before the meeting ended, one of the managers told us that the worker who was allowed to disobey the dress code was a former soldier who lost her leg and was therefore given permission to wear whatever kind of shoes she could walk in. You can’t even tell, and if we had known about this we would have factored it into our argument." Or, you know, they might have considered that if the only exception allowed to the code was someone who had literally lost a leg, then their argument--sorry, but this fits--didn't have a leg to stand on.

- That piece on medical debt just kills me, especially the ending. And good for the collections person who told her the truth.
