Big Hollywood : Gamechanger?: How Would You Like to Cancel Your Obnoxiously Expensive Cable Service?

I pretty much cancelled cable back in 2005. I tried promotional cable services a few times, but there was so much noise pollution and so little good programming, that I cancelled each time after the promotional period. I do have an extensive video library, and I have a netbook that I can connect to my television to watch Hulu, Glenn Beck, etc. Also, even Fox News didn't interest me because I already had all of the news from the internet, including Breitbart.com and just a few other websites. I just couldn't see spending so much time listening to the talking heads chew for 15-20 minutes on issues that I was already better informed on from a brief, well-written article on the internet. When they start producing quality, conservative material, perhaps I'll go back to TV. What really shocked me was that the reason for paying for cable was to do away with commercials...most of the cable stations have far more commercials than network television did before cable. Best wishes to all, Gail S

Breitbart.tv : Malkin Skewers Media for Questioning Perry's Smarts

Whether or not Rick Perry is the "real deal" is not important. He's the only person on the campaign trail who isn't afraid to fight. Hell, he relishes the fight!. We don't need a statesman or a genius, we need a warrior. This is a man who will take it to the liberals and Democrats fearlessly. Here and now, that is what we need. In all honesty, he's not my favorite candidate. There are others I "like" more, but Perry is a political gladiator and losing is not an option. When the dust settles, anyone can clean up the mess, but first we need to win and that is what Perry does.
Big Hollywood : A Modest Economic Proposal: Eat Hollywood

That would be a good start, then how about canceling tax credits, and imposing a viable tax on the 47% to 51% of Americans who pay no tax at all? With just a little searching, even this staunch opposer of taxes can find a few areas where taxes could indeed be increased.
Big Hollywood : Child Molestation Allegations Against Hollywood Must Be Investigated

I blame women. If they were properly submissive and you know, like good muslim women, men would not need to rape children to feel powerful, they could still be raping women, who after all are created for that purpose...just ask Jonathan Swift...
Big Hollywood : DVD Sales Slumping, New Formats Not Closing the Gap

I started boycotting movies and television several years ago. I used to spend over $50.00 per month buying videos. Now, I limit most of my purchases to videos recommended on this site as conservative. I confess I temporarily have cable, but the movies that I've been seeing are mostly a waste of my time. I wonder how many other people stopped buying videos and watching movies for the same reason...liberal brainwashing. I had a pretty large collection before starting m boycott, and looking at many of those movies that I previously enjoyed, I see all of the liberal, socialist and communist subtext and I just can't watch them anymore. Now, I read Breitbart and go to tea parties. If the entertainment industry ever gets back to its real job, perhaps I will start supporting them again.
Big Government : Let Common Sense Solve Obesity Problem, Not Government

Am I the only person who has noticed that the increase in obesity is parallel to the amount of no fat, low fat and low calorie foods we consume? Someone think the thought through. The more lowfat food we eat, the fatter we get. There is a biological reason for it. People need about 30% of their calories from naturally occurring fats. When they don't get it, they crave empty calorie foods like white flour and white sugar which the body cannot store as sugar, and immediately converts to fat. Go back to old fashioned groceries and your wieght will be just fine.
This is why I use Yahoo...don't know if they are any more conservative, but you don't hear this kind of stuf about them. And if they ever do, there is another new search engine: startpage.com It looks like de facto boycotts of movies and television are starting to have an impact. Sales, viewership and revenues are going down, and they are starting to slant content to what they think is conservative...of course since they don't understand, leftwing interpretations of conservatism are just as offensive as leftwing material. Now, let's stop using Google. There are alternatives.
Big Hollywood : Reader Question: Have Movies Gotten Worse Over the Last Ten Years?

If you want to know what's wrong with Hollywood, watch the very excellent movie Chumscrubber. You have to see the extra features, where the movie makers explain that it is a movie about "any city" America. It's not. It's about a suburb of Los Angeles, Valencia. I would never have realized it except that I was actually living there when I saw it. I was a complete square peg surrounded by round holes, and I have never had a problem fitting in. It's not that I was not accepted, it's that I felt like an alien...I didn't want to fit in. This movie explained it. Every character is brilliantly portrayed as a completely 1-dimensional, totally self-involved, shallow individual. People imitating cartoon caricatures. The thing is that is how LA really and truly is, and they are projecting their own image upon a world that is far richer, deeper, generous and wiser than they can even pretend to be.
Big Hollywood : Jon Stewart Trashes Average Americans to Portray All of Us as Islamophobic

The concept of "islamophobia" is the fantasy of the liberal left. It is not fear that muslims inspire with their honor killings, mutiliagions, forced marriages and suicide bombers (all endorsed by the Koran), it is utter disgust and revulsion. These are very different things...Stewart just wishes we were afraid. That would be much eaiser to control Best regards, Gail S http://www.backyardfence.wordpress.com

Big Hollywood : Madison Theatre Company: Angry At Arizona and Tea Party? Come Watch Us Kill Some Conservatives!

But you don't understand...right wingers deserve to die. It's not like saying something mean about muslim terrorists who are merely oppressed and misunderstood. Why oh why can't you understand? [tears and hand-wringing] Ok, I'm finished...but on re-reading the Federalist papers, I came across a rather simple statement: Self government is only possible with a moral population. So, do you see why liberals crave authoritarian government? They are inherently immoral and require authoritarian government, and they assume that everyone is like them, only those right-wingers pretend to be good, something that is really not possible. They just know that if they tweak our noses enough, our evil will spill out to vindicate them. We now know they are not like us deep down inside, they are immoral and we are not. We are capable of self government and they are not. So, it is time for the moral grown-ups to take back control of the whole kit and kaboodle, from government, to education to the arts.
There is one aspect of abortion that no one seems to ever address. If a woman has one or more abortions then has a baby later, it is only after she had the baby that she can fully grasp what an abortion is. I would expect that some of the emotional trauma of abortion would only surface after a woman fully comprehended her act.

Actually, there were a some conservative pundits who said the right was just as bad as the left for unearthing the grisly details that this nutjob was actually a liberal, reared by hippy parents who started taking drugs in his early teens and considered the Communist Manifesto one of his favorite books. I had to turn off the Mike Gallagher show the following Monday because he was saying that the folks on the right doing that research were just as bad as the liberals who initiated the slanderous accusations. He came out in defense of us a few days later. But the instinct is always to shut down the "radidal right". Remember, most of these guys get their news from the liberal media and then comment on what the liberals say. Very few of them do independent research. Best source for news in general is the FreeRepublic.com website. There are a lot of big government Republicans who are just as happy to subjugate the American people as the Democrats. And they believe whatever the liberals say about conservatives.
