1. Name one flaw of Twilight Sparkle as of season 4? You can't.
2. Mary Sues don't necessarily have to be flawless. The main character of My Immortal has many flaws, yet is a prototypical Mary Sue. It's more about how the story revolves around them, not the personality of the character.
3. Twilight Sparkle used to be my favorite character (maybe still is), but objectively I cannot deny the obvious truth of the fact that she's the biggest Mary Sue since Bella Swan.

If somebody writes a fanfic where the main character is the favorite student of Celestia, and then becomes an alicorn princess herself, would we call this character a Mary Sue? If yes, why do we hold the show to lower standard than amateur fanfics?
