Point well taken, but (unless he's stated otherwise) bear in mind that Kloves may have had to follow orders from either the directors or the studio, and--speaking as a semi-pro writer who's worked on adapting a novel for film--some of those adaptations (books 4 through 7 in particular) were really, really difficult (length, condensing 10 hours of story into 2 hours of movie). I give him major points for not screwing up the series overall--almost unspeakably difficult given the massive competing economic forces at work.

Great article on Lynch. Interesting how TV's been able to make some progress with sex scenes ("Girls," "Catastrophe," "The Americans") while film still seems stuck.

I have ADD-Inattentive (coupled with anxiety), and I wasn't properly diagnosed until age 32, so this very much resonated with me. Thank you for writing it; it takes a lot of courage to open yourself up like that.

That's pretty awesome. I would think it was awesome even if I didn't have depression/ADD, even if I didn't have a former girlfriend with rheumatoid arthritis, 2 really good friends with Crohn's, a best friend who was legally blind...shut up, gregm, this is not about you.
