What a beautiful picture of you two! Today I posted about getting up at 445 am for my (second) (new) job in addition to grad school. What can I say...us ladies know how to work it!

http://bodywontbreak.com/ : the rest of my life can\'t compare

Gosh, I think this is one of the toughest obstacles we all face at the gym: how much we should and CAN push ourselves. I think what you're going through is helping you really get in touch with your body, and therefor progress in your workouts! Woot!

Keep on doing what you're doing, kid (I'm acting out a dramatic fairwell scene in my mind, FYI). You've always been a personal fave. I'll be seein' you (better?). :-)

http://bodywontbreak.com/ : done looking for the critics (week 12)

Even though it can seem like a never-ending battle to realize it's a life-long battle, the idea of fighting FOR your life turns the negativity aspect on its head...it's still a battle, it's still painful, but it's rewarding and empowering too.

Good job, Leslie!! There is NOTHING like the feeling of turning a negative emotion into a positive outlook. It makes me feel very empowered, like I could conquer anything.

http://bodywontbreak.com/ : all out of reasons to run

I don't know a lot about the South Beach diet, but if it's teaching you to make sustainable food changes, that is AWESOME! Have a great trip! Also...the small choices you made before/during your travel time are HUGE. Recognizing how you would normally make those decisions, and then reshaping the experience, is really hard for most human natures (every semester my students have to do one behavior change project, where they pick one thing they want to change over a month--it always remind me how hard it really is to change our habits).

Also, fun fact: the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer went to my undergrad (Wesleyan University)--woot woot!
I have the same image of slitting someone's jugular when skating, except I usually knock them down first by barreling into them, then slice some fingers off as I stumble over them. THEN I completely wreck and take em out as I go down. My palms are sweating just thinking about the dangerous situation.
