The Wild Hunt : When Schism Happens to Pagans

Debt exists outside of zero-sum economic theory too. Life is messy, but you still have to be a good neighbor.

Yeah, I agree. Having a Witchy "menu" or price list is a bit icky. It should just be a case of reciprocity. Not everyone has good manners though. Although as a Wiccan I'm trying to be really respectful of the the prices people set for services I actually want, regardless of how I feel about charging for things. If it's something I actually want badly enough, I just pay without comment or haggling. I've taken a few workshops that I personally wouldn't have charged for had I been giving them, but then, I wasn't giving them and I did desire the workshop. *shrug*

Nature abhors a vacuum. You cannot take without giving back. You can breathe in all you want but eventually you will have to exhale.

The Wild Hunt : Wiccan Abortion Mills and other Pagan News of Note

I am corny by nature and kind of like the label. The land thing is interesting. It takes a lot of effort to obtain and maintain property, especially if it's for a public Pagan center.

The Wild Hunt : Quick Note: Why Are They Leaving Christianity?

If Christianity wants to survive, not to mention thrive, they need to practice separation of church and hate. I have sat in Christian services and felt right at home until hatred, misogyny and racism started flowing from the pulpit. I would even be willing to bet that if the Catholic church ordained women and embraced the GLBT community that they would begin to grow like gangbusters in the West. On the other hand, their misogyny and homophobia have given us some very fine leaders, priests, authors, musicians and organizers.

Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States" is a fascinating book. Written purposefully from the perspective of the downtrod, it starts with some really gruesome facts about Columbus and the colonization of the New World.

Amerigo Vespucci figured out that the "New World" was not India but a previously unknown continent. He ended up with two continents named after him. And, unlike Columbus, he was actually Italian.

I vote this as the most mind-blowing Wild Hunt ever. Firstly, completely blown away that fellow GA girl Roberts is Hindu. We have an absolutely gorgeous Hindu temple here, hand carved by artisans from India. I forsee a rise in interest in the Hindu traditions, or at least in their fashion. Julia Roberts and Aishwarya Rai starring in a film also featuring women's spirituality? I could totally see that. As a musician, I am a HUGE fan of Wyclef Jean, but as far as him being a good president? I don't know. I do think he is a symbol the country can unite behind. I wish him luck. I hope someone buys and restores the abbey, even if they don't make it a museum.
