Thanks for sharing Jeri. God truly is our anchor! You, being in Hawaii, probably cannot relate to my photo journal blog post today...you'll have to check out my snowy Ohio:)

Great minds think alike....I had a similar post today on Bonnie's Thursday Jam:) Loved reading what you had to say.....so true. It is hard to get my mind around the fact that God delights in me. Wow. Just wow.

Loved your post. I agree with you, I think many times we think of Jesus birth as clean, pleasant (as giving birth can be!) and cozy, but it was really quite the opposite, huh? For the God of all, to come to us in the form of a baby, in utter humility...it is beyond words.

(I love Max Lucado, enjoyed his quote:)

The last weekend in November, the family decorates the Christmas tree. We make hot chocolate and bake cookies to eat while we are decorating. We also choose a classic black and white movie to watch after the Christmas tree is lit. (favorites are- It's A Wonderful Life, White Christmas, and Miracle on 34th Street)

I believe "being in love" has more to do with romance and emotions. Everyone enjoys the highs that come with being in love or falling in love. The heart is fickle and can't be trusted....emotions are like a roller coaster. Some days ya feel it and other days ya don't. On the other hand, loving someone is a choice. I can choose to love my husband on days that aren't romance novel material. I do things for him because I choose to love him by preparing his meals, laundering his clothes, giving him a hug after a rough day at work. Loving my children is choosing to help them with tough problems, spending time with them, laughing together, and when needed, disciplining them.
When we love like Christ loves us, we love others, not because they deserve our love (because on some days they may not!) but because of Christ's great love for us, we are free to love others. When an individual knows the deep love of Christ, she is free to share that love with others. Sometimes it is in a romantic way, sometimes it might be loving someone through job loss, the loss of a loved one, an illness, or the day to day grind.

Bianca,
Thank you for your post. I feel the same way! I grew up with an aunt who was developmentally disabled (special needs) and then I went on to graduate with a degree in Special Education. I've spent the last two decades working with this population. I have learned much, so much more, from my them, than I ever taught.
