Ποια είναι η διαφορά μεταξύ του μυστικού λογαριασμού διαχειριστή και ενός κανονικού λογαριασμού διαχειριστή; Στα Vista, η διαφορά είναι οτι ο λογαριασμός διαχειριστή δεν εξαρτάται απο τον έλεγχο λογαριασμού χρήστη (UAC-User Account Control). Έτσι, ο διαχειριστής μπορεί να κάνει οποιεσδήποτε αλλαγές στο σύστημα παρακάμπτοντας τον UAC και τις ενοχλητικές παρεμβάσεις του. Βέβαια θα μπορούσατε απλά να απενεργοποιήσετε το UAC στο σύστημά σας (πίνακας ελέγχου > λογαριασμοί χρηστών > αλλαγή ρυθμίσεων ελέγχου λογαριασμού χρήστη), αλλά όλη η διαδικασία μπορεί να είναι επίπονη, και μπορεί να ξεχάσετε να τον ενεργοποιήστε ξανά, κάτι που μπορεί να κάνει τον υπολογιστή σας ευάλωτο σε κακόβουλες επιθέσεις.
