Big Peace : Code Pink Tells Gold Star Mom: Your Son Deserved to Die

So much for the "peace-loving" Code Pink. They are hypocrite pig disgraces to the human race and will have to answer for their evil words and deeds. On the other hand, Marc Alan sits at the right hand of God in honor of his brave sacrifice. God bless you, Mrs. Lee, and all Gold Star parents and siblings, wives, husbands, and children. May Archangel Michael protect our troops every moment, from deployment to safe return home.

Dear Helene: I am sending prayers and loving, positive thoughts across the miles to you, to Asa, and to all who knew and loved Chris. May all your memories of your beloved son enfold you like a soft blanket and comfort you, until you meet again in spirit.

Being an editor by trade, I tend to rely on dictionary definitions. Here's what Merriam-Webster's Third Unabridged says: "Main Entry: his·pan·ic Pronunciation Guide Pronunciation: (primarystress)hi|spanik, -nemacronk Function: adjective Usage: usually capitalized Etymology: Latin Hispanicus, from Hispania Spain, Iberian peninsula + Latin -icus -ic : relating to or derived from the people, speech, or culture of Spain or of Spain and Portugal; often : LATIN-AMERICAN <the folklore of Hispanic groups> - hispanic-american \\"+\\ adjective, usually capitalized H&A" Thus, my great-grandmother from Argentina was Hispanic. If you wish to parse the general phrase into infinity, that's your prerogative. For me, when I hear the word *Hispanic* I think "of Spanish origin."

Giving amnesty to illegals is a stinging slap in the face to your wife, my grandparents, and great-grandparents...all of whom followed the immigration procedure as set forth by the rule of law. The emigrators in my family are deceased, so I can't ask them how they feel about the matter, but I am curious as to what your wife thinks, if she cares to tell us.

Hahahaha! I was just thinking the same thing, and hoping their act of protest gets postponed until June or July. They won't last an hour in the desert. Hahahahaha!

First Nation peoples are said to have crossed over into this land from the Bering Strait, so no one, as far as I understand it, is indigenous. But, more to your point, I don't think it's a Hispanic thing but rather an attitude problem. No one had a problem with my Argentine great-grandmother. She wanted to be here and assimilated while still retaining aspects of her culture. I've spent years living on the border, in Texas and in AZ, and have lived in NV (and NJ and NY and PA), and I can't tell you how many times I've heard Mexican nationals (here illegally) and even Americans of Mex descent who were born here say that the Southwest belongs to them. They look forward to becoming a majority, etc. They have resentment about the jobs they willingly take, while driving down wages for American workers, and in no way do the aforesaid people wish to adopt American ways. Not learning the lingua franca is a prime example of the arrogance and disdain for the Melting Pot. So, it's not about olive skin (which I have, also being of Italian and French ancestry). It's about a bad attitude.
