I am not a person who believes in "good byes" as of today. Notion being there is nothing that can be sorted out between the two persons but perhaps you do have a point. There is no point in carrying some serious emotional baggage along. Should it become absolutely inevitable at some point, better to amputate that limb.

Both his books are indeed brilliant. Hard to pick between the two. The way he zooms in on the doomed images and impressions of life within the war torn Afghanistan through an insider's lens while bringing out the contradictions and dichotomy that are embedded deep down is marvelous.

All in all, the narrations are the heart wrenching tales of a beautiful, culturally rich and diverse Afghanistan going through a phase of relentless death and destruction leaving its merciless imprints on the inhabitants and everything around them, and beautifully summed up.
