Ooh, I've read Lovelace's new poetry book too but my reaction / rating was quite different! To me, it was more of a 3-star read and one of the stars was due to how important I think the message it sends is. I think I've scheduled my review to come out for that on Monday!

Ooh, this is such an interesting topic. I feel as though more and more authors are using languages that are foreign to them, just for the sake of making their story more 'unique' or appeal to more people. The idea that it might not have been correct didn't really appear to me, I guess I always thought that they got real translators to do all of the translating for them!

I answer it, although it might take a while! I guess it really depends on how I'm feeling.

Woah, Return Once More sounds so interesting? I can't believe I haven't stumbled upon it before, it sounds amazing! It's always a pity when books that have amazing potential, just don't have enough publicity for them to explore that potential :( At least I found it through your post though!

I always love your lists! Although, I'm ashamed to say that I haven't read a single book that appeared in this post. I'm really hoping that I'll be able to catch up on my reading next year (there little hope for that though, next year is going to be even busier than this one). Thanks for sharing!

My one rule is generally that I have to read at least 50 pages before I can put a book down. More than often, I'll find that the author was just really terrible at beginnings, but not that bad of a writer. This technique has saved so many books from the 'get rid of pile' which is why I tend to stick to it!

This is such an amazing idea! Number one has definitely caught my attention, I've never really read any gladiator books? I've watched Spartacus though! Loved that.

Ooh I'm happy that you managed to get all of your books at such low prices, and winning a book on twitter? SCORE! We didn't really do anything for bonfire day, because we're busy packing up our moving stuff - we did go out for a bite to eat though. Nothing really special. Moving has been super stressful, all of my books have been packed into boxes!

Oh gosh, I'm so jealous of all of the books you managed to obtain! I've been on a book buying ban recently because I've got way too many books on my bookshelf that I haven't read. Plus I'm moving, so getting new things would just make the job a hell of a lot harder for me. Loved the haul!

Ooh, I literally just received this in the mail! It looks gorgeous, and now I want to read it even more. Although I might have to wait a while because, ugh, we're moving and have to pack everything in secure boxes and blah blah blah. So I might be sticking to paperbacks for now. I adored your review though! It made me all that more pumped for beginning it.
