There's a track right by my house...you'd think I'd hit it up more often! This gives me some motivation to head over and try this!

Wheres the Beach : Being the Part of a Trainer

plyometrics!!!! You can do them anywhere, and they are definitely a muscle worker. Pushups, squats and squat jumps, long leaps, tuck jumps, dips on a bench, etc. It's not always easy to get creative, but with a little thinking and some good knowledge it can be done. This is why I think it is important for personal trainers to be their own guinea pig. Try new things so that you can have them in your pocket to show your clients in a pinch. :-) Good luck!!

I must know...were these kipping pull ups or are you just a freak of nature that can bust out 50 pull ups?! :-) I'm going to try that workout sometime this week. Definitely will be doing assisted pull ups though haha

Nourished Fitness : Decide, Eat, Laugh, Love

i can compltely understand that feeling because i did the exact same thing. yes, i could compete fairly soon and look good, but the desire just isn't there right now and i'm having more fun training and dieting for ME, not for a competition. glad you made the decision that felt right for you :)

Nourished Fitness : 'Huge' Mixed Messages

i saw the previews for "Huge" as well and while I think it's great that they are teaching people to accept themselves, i'm totally with you. Being obese is unhealthy and causes health problems. You can't just take an "i'm fine" approach to a serious health risk like that. Nobody needs to be perfect, but striving for good health should be everyone's goal! And on another note...i'm so excited that you're competing!! I love when friends are prepping for a show!!! We should get together for some cardio one of these days. Boxing, running, whatever. Vegas is almost here woohoo!!!

Nourished Fitness : PO'ed & Protein Pancakes

i completely agree with you. i can't tell you how many times i've been told i "need" to take fat burners. I tried them for 1 week and took a good look at myself and realized ummm..NOT worth risking your health for this. I don't even believe they really work, so it's a waste of money anyways.
