Hey Becca! I just came across your blog through your guest post today and I'm hooked :) Your recent tips for getting into running is awesome - I'm not a new runner at all but I've never really challenged myself to get deep into the sport, so I'm somewhat in the "newbie" phase. I'm trying to get my old ability back, but it's difficult to start from ground zero - I can't wait for more inspirational posts to read!

Gabriela, you're a genius! I'm definitely going to make these as a special something for my one year with my man - they're froufou but not so muchso that he wouldn't enjoy them!

I make my sangria-soaked tri-pepper pasta routinely (gah, what a mouthful of a recipe name!) Pastas like these where you can pretty much use any veggie in a delish sauce always turn out to be winners!

Girl, you're so much braver than I am with the beers! Light lagers for me all the way! I don't do a lot of cheese, but I do like a little blueberry vanilla chevre as something special. Smoked gouda or fresh-cut asiago are good picks too - anything that packs a sharp flavor so I dont need a lot!

http://www.une-vie-saine.com/ : Whole Foods?

On one hand, I think the whole food approach is best as far as nutrients; however, because - like you - I dislike the taste of meat and I have a problem with the animal-products industries in America, I don't want to put those things in my bodies. I don't mind a few man-made alternatives like soy yogurt on occasion, but I do try to focus on whole foods. Sometimes I think we can stress too much about the technicalities of our food - just eat what makes you feel good - whether or not that's "pure" slabs of meat and eggs or tofu + greens; and what you can feel good (ethically) about eating!

http://www.une-vie-saine.com/ : Friends With Benefits

I think the crude-ness makes them better than the earlier, predictable and mockable generation of rom-coms though...that or it just appeals to my bawdy sense of humor... That's so cool that they filmed it locally! I love watching movies that are done either in my area or somewhere I have been - it's fun to be able to say "I've been there!"

http://www.organicallyme.net/ : The Dark Side of "Healthy" Blogging

This is right on the money! I feel a lot of pressure to "match" other bloggers when it really hasn't been right for me. Veganism, marathon running, daily strength training sessons, swigging kombucha...all great in theory, but if I can't do it or have no desire to do it, then I shouldn't have to just because it's "standard" for a healthy living blogger. I just wrote this morning about the pressures to cater your meals to your blog instead of the other way around, and I think what you just said worked itself in perfectly. You have to do what's right for you, what makes you happy, and most importantly what makes YOU genuinely feel good - not what makes everyone else feel good so you figure you should just do it too.
