Ideas and Thoughts from Winter Street VC and Entrepreneur : Keeping startups in Boston

this was a pretty dope post. i found myself nodding the whole way through except for maybe the part where c'bridge > SF for young ppl. if you were referring to PA, then probably, but i actually really like SF (and i'm 23). i think if you take the young cohort of bostonians (< 28 y.o.) interested in start-ups, i would say > 65% are interested in consumer and most of the rest in SaaS, yet most of them don't know how to build it. when i was going to events, i was finding a lot of people looking for a tech co-founder (incl myself), but didn't know how to sell it (acquire customers). so you totally hit the nail on the head, so many can't get passed the stage of the build, that they don't even begin to think about the sell. more get built, more learn how to sell, more ecosystem of start-ups sharing how to sell.

Feld Thoughts : Senator Mark Udall Co-Sponsors The Startup Visa Act of 2010

awesome, two startup visa blog posts in two days (referring to fred wilson's post yesterday - http://www.avc.com/a_vc/2010/07/immigration-refor.... thanks for the update brad, definitely motivating that there's still great progress being made. in terms of timing fred mentioned: "So I was thrilled to hear Senator Schumer's optimism last night that we will get "comprehensive immigration reform" in 2011, after the midterm elections". is this inline with what you're hearing on the front-line?
