Except at holidays, I never buy things for the kids anymore. In fact, I find I even buy things out of obligation now instead of out of a true thought that the child will love something. So many unused toys in this house. I'm sure moving will help us purge naturally, I'll try this approach then!

I've chosen not to use my kids' photos on my blog and I also don't use our real names. The world is a big place, and I never know if something I've written will one day come back to haunt me at a job interview, or something I think is cute will come up in a Google search when my son is 15 an his friends find it and make fun of something. When my kids are old enough to give consent to these things, maybe I'd use their names, but for now I don't. I ask my older three for permission before I put their pictures on Facebook, too.

Wonderful. I, too, have a nearly three year old who likes to joke about "chicken butts," all day long. Hard to keep a straight face and scold for something that is, truly, funny. Good to have a sense of humor with the kids :)

I think I went to the same gardening school!

Your garden looks nice and grow-y. The only time I grew zucchini we had one plant that produced about 800 zucchinis, but I am afraid I can't tell you why. Last year I tried broccoli, which great nice plants, but never grew broccoli.

Beautifully written. I went from recording milestones in baby books to writing letters to my kids when I felt moved to, letters they can read when they're adults. This is a good reminder to do that again.

It's so hard, isn't it? Our bodies do this amazing thing by carrying babies and then sometimes leaves us feeling like we got a little punished in return. I've lost a lot of weight in the last two years, but recently the scale is going up and it's making me impatient and cranky, too. Buying new clothes will really help you - always feels good to have things that fit well, even if just a new shirt!
