I would sit with him under the shade of a tree in a field, I've always dreamed of doing that. We would talk. And by talk I hope he would talk and I could just take it all in. I imagine Heaven being like that at times :D

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : What are you praying about?

My friend's sister is on drugs. My Uncle's mother in law has cancer, it's looking like the end... My aunt has cancer, she got a really good test result back then they called her back and said they gave her the wrong results. Turns hers were much worse. My friend is leaving sunday for Mexico, she's going to do some work at an orphanage. And...anyone who is hurting tonight...emotional, physically or spirtually

Be soft on sin? Did they forget what happened to them? God forgave them of their sins, and yet they feel the need to be hard on others. It's not our place as Christains to judge others. We're called to encourage other Christians and to hold them accountable, but holding one accountable is completely different from judging. Holding one accountable is out of love to see the person change, judging is out of bitterness. I read the article and I thought it was spot on. Good work! :D

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Hating Harry Potter, giving Gandalf a free pass.

I like Gandalf best! Harry is cool, but he has to much teenage angst. Sort of like Bella on twilight, no one understands either of them! haha Gandalf just seems like a cooler guy, and is why he has my vote. I do like the Good vs. Evil in both stories. It's a good message, because evil loses out in the end. I think some Christians make to big of a deal about an entertaining book like Harry Potter. If you're doing your job as a parent then your children probably won't start practicing magic just because they read about it. But what do I know, I'm just a kid.

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Remix #154. Breaking up after a retreat.

I went to a Beth Moore retreat dressed as a lady, I didn't make it past the estrogen dectors at the front door. Beth Moore herself beat me with a baseball bat :D. I once sent 100 carrier pigeons to a girl on retreat, I wouldn't recommend it. The fact I had never met her made it that much more awkward. haha love the the blog!

About 2 years ago (maybe more) we did a Bible study on a book called "Dating, Mating and Relating." The title still makes me chuckle. :D It was actually very helpful.
