I'm sure your visit cheered her tremendously, but if she needs any more cheer, you should show her this post. Those photos and her home are spectacular. It brightened my morning to see those little snippets of her environment. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Another option you might consider is to take on an apprentice or intern. Jeff may not be able to carry out as much physical work as he used to or wants to, but I'll bet there are many people out there who would trade some heavy lifting for some of Jeff's knowledge and experience in woodworking.

Now I don't feel so guilty about having 3-4 projects going at once. I'm always working on something while thinking about the next thing. Gotta have a project that's intricate for when I have time to focus and concentrate, one that's small enough to carry everywhere, and one that can be totally mindless for 90% of the time (i.e., when I don't have time or quiet to focus and concentrate).

Yes, I agree about the warmth, but what to do with a 3-year-old diva who is certain that only sundresses and sandals are acceptable gear. Little by little, I'm getting her to wear some tights and shoes or sometimes leggings but oh my goodness, it's a struggle for me to think up ways to make her feel that it's HER idea to dress warmly.

Fun linky party -- sorry to be a little lazy and use one of my blog posts for two linkies -- does that make me a 2-timer? I linked to my blog post about a hat I'm knitting, but I also just finished a huge wig made of purple yarn for my little L'Oiseau. She looks like a beautiful purple Rastafarian lion when she wears it. I'll have to post about it soon. I enjoy your blog so much! You've inspired me to learn more about Waldorf. We're a Montessori family, but I'm interested to learn more about Steiner's philosophy.

The green yarn is so lovely -- is it your spinning work? I'm also working on a striped hat for my little L'Oiseau, using up some leftovers from other projects--details and pictures are on my Yarn Along post. And I just started reading Masanobu Fukuoka's book One Straw Revolution, which is a ground-breaking (although that's the wrong adjective for a book that promotes no-till farming!) memoir and guide to natural farming and living.

Oh, that sweater! Oh, that poncho! Great stuff, lady. I'm so impressed with your knitting, I subscribed to get your posts via e-mail. I'll bet all your blogging will be just as enviable.

I'm with Rosemary Gladstar: one of my favorite treats in the summer is elderflower fritters, but I make them savory, not sweet. Dip them in some beaten egg, then a mix of cornmeal, flour, and seasonings and I fry them up. They taste like fried seafood to me. I'm going to check out my elder shrubs for berries this evening!

More inspiration! I'm going to totally steal this idea for my blog. It must be so satisfying to see all the things you've accomplished and so centering to have a reminder of things you want to do. Great idea.
