I read MG, YA, and Adult books as an adult.

For MG and YA, I'll mention in my review if it is a book adults will or won't enjoy. Some things that work for younger kids don't work for older audiences. On the flip side, if I think that a YA or adult novel would be appropriate and enjoyed by a MG reader, then I'll include that too.

On occassion, I've given a book a 5 star rating for kids and a 3 star rating for adults...and then merge the two for the official rating of 4 stars. That particular book was sci-fi and adults care if the science is feasible, while kids just care if its entertaining.

I have a 10 year old nephew who loves to read and much of my recommendations stem on what I'd think he'd enjoy. Many of the MG and YA books I do pass on to him. It's also surprising sometimes on what he does read. He loved The Hunger Games series, hated the end to the Divergent series, and is currently working on The Mortal Instrument series. He's also a fan of the shorter, simpler MG stuff, but reads it too fast for it to be worth buying for him.

I'm absolutely terrified of receiving my first negative review. Although, it's still a long ways from happening. I still haven't let anyone read more than a couple pages of my manuscript.

Anyway, great advice and great article. Maybe if I read it enough times, it will help build up my thick skin. I have thick skin with a lot of things...this is just untested waters for me.

I enjoyed this book, but I heard AMAZING things about the audiobook version. Maybe if I get a stockpile of credits on audible, I'll buy this. It is on my short list of paperbacks to buy. :)

It bothers me when I think a book is about something only to find it is completely different. If the people get abducted by aliens in the end, then warn me that it's science fiction. I don't want to go through the entire book only to get hit by a genre change.

But...that's a crapload of review books. Geez.

Well, if you read 52 books a year, you'll be done with you TBR list in a little over 5 years. Provided you don't add any books. ;)

Legend and The Darken Minds were two of my favorite books last year. I hope you enjoy them. :)

I can't decide whether fellow bloggers or the indie authors have been more awesome since I started blogging. I agree with everything you said, especially that special feeling when I see a new comment pop up.

(Though when it's spam...something inside me dies.)

I think that everyone should be given an extra hour in the day to get all the shit done. It's weird how much more time goes into running a blog than just reading and writing the review.

It's tough when the minor characters are more entertaining than the main ones. The books sounds interesting though, so I may still check it out. Thanks for the review!

The feature sounds fun. I'm looking forward to checking it out. :)

I need to learn CSS. I know a decent amount of HTML, but CSS has eluded me. I'm so scared of playing with my blog and breaking something, LOL.

Although I don't personally tweet negative reviews to the authors, I commend you with treating all reviews the same. If authors don't like your policy, there are plenty of other places to get reviews.

Personally, I think that 3 stars should be okay for blog tours. If the tour demands that 3 star reviews be withheld until after the tour is over, then I'll drop the tour. 3 stars aren't negative. 1 + 2 stars are.
