Deb, I just stopped by from SRT and am surprised and PLEASED to have the Lord speak to me through your blog! What incredible timing. But then, His timing is ALWAYS right! :) I'm facing some hard challenges and choices regarding changes I need to make and this is telling me that I DO have to make these changes NOW. Thank you for encouraging words, and Congratulations on your wise and healthy accomplishments!

Haha! I remember when life was just life - Love it! So true too. I also want to thank you Lauren, for being one of those transparent, incredibly honest women who comment. You've often made me question myself and brought attention to things I hadn't even thought of !

Sadly, when I was in leadership positions I was not yet in Christ. I used to butt heads with the Maintenance Supervisor for a very large apartment complex I managed. This man drove me absolutely batty! I look back now and know I could have done so much more if my belief in Jesus had been present. I KNOW I wouldn't have let him get under my skin nearly as much, and I would have been more effective. Now I need to stand on these promises to get rid of that spirit of fear and insecurity that have come due to being disabled and home bound. That I also don't listen to the enemy telling me that "just" being a Mom is nothing, I can't do it well because of my health, etc. I KNOW that's not the truth, it couldn't be farther from it!! It is without a doubt, the MOST important job I will EVER have. That's why I need our Lord so much, I can't rely on my own strength. I echo our sister Catherine_K_L's prayer above - she said it beautifully!

Praying for you Leenda, I understand your fear! I have a brother that suffers from severe mental illness and I worry about it quite a lot. My parents never suffered any mental illness, but I know it does run in families. Also my maternal grandmother suffered from dementia quite young and I admit that is one of my greatest fears- to one day not know who my own children are... This is my new go to verse- especially the AMP version! Thanx!

As part of this community, I honestly think all the wonderful women who share testimonies, thoughts and their knowledge do so out of genuinely wanting to be a help or a light to someone who needs it. Who knows who may be blessed or how many may be blessed by what is shared each day right here- God has used SRT MIGHTILY!! The women who started it and who continue to bless us with their writing, did so for accountability which in turn spoke to so many and encouraged a community where women can go to for help, encouragement, prayer, or to say whatever is on their hearts. Of course we all have our own extremely personal moments with our Lord that we may or may not want to share. It's whatever is comfortable for that person. I don't feel like anyone is trying to show off or be the center of attention. I know I'm grateful for the open transparent women here that allow me to feel I'm not the only one with this problem or that issue. I can't even begin to tell how much I've learned here! Before I would get lost or not understand certain scripture, but by reading all the different perspectives and comments I gain so much more insight than I would have bouncing it around in my own head, lol...
The important thing is that TRUTH is read here, and that TRUTH is spoken here among us! Every time that is done we glorify the Lord. To Him be the power and the glory that His word is our light! That we are fed His word, that we bear fruit in His name! Our "truth" couldn't and wouldn't weather the storm that is life - His word and the gift of His promises is the only thing that will see us through the turbulence we face, the only peace we will have. Praise Him that He loves us so much, to give us what we need! What a wonderful Father we serve- and we serve Him by sharing our stories with one another, to shine His light to someone who may be in darkness. To tell them they are not alone. How better to glorify Him, our Lord and Savior!!
