It really is obvious from your posts that, even though, yes, circumstances have dictated your path, you are exceptional. And indeed an expert, with so much to offer other people in similar, but unique circumstances. Fair play. #thesdatsesh

I really enjoy your blog, and your approach. Fascinating insights, soberly yet compassionately observed and examined. I wonder have you watched The Bridge, the Scandi-noir detective series on BBC and the Saga Noren character, who is obviously, if not explicitly stated, on the spectrum? The actress playing her, Sofia Helin, is wonderful but it is all superbly done, not just the story, but her character, and how she struggles so heroically with being on the one hand, a brilliant detective, but also caught up in a whirlwind of emotions she can barely express, let alone deal with. If you haven't I highly recommend it. #thesatsesh

I have no interest in computer games myself but appreciate what my son, in particular gets out of them. He plays online with people also and they work together in situations ... even if it is Fortnite and they are blowing people away and all that!! He does other things as well, football especially, so has plenty of exercise. #TheSatSesh

Hats off for a wonderfully wise (hard-earned wisdom, no doubt!) and thought-provoking post. We are all familiar with this desire to "solve" people. It doesn't just apply to autism, or any "condition". I have been to all intents and purposes trying to solve my teenage daughter's not always acceptable behaviour, and her negative attitude towards my parental interventions. Yes, some things she does are not acceptable, but at least some of our issues are down to her having a wildly different take on life, what is "important", and we are at obviously very different stages in life. I have to fail better, basically, and try not to just be angry when she does things I find difficult. I have to try harder to get behind the behaviour and help her to express certain things in maybe a different way. #thesatsesh

Sounds such a crude instrument: I always feel intelligence tests test particular skills and are not everyone's forte. It makes me think of an excellent ballerina being tested to see how good she is at gymnastics. Maybe some cross over but significantly different, so kind of pointless. #thesatsesh

It really is a cliche and one you refute so eloquently, clearly and well. #thesatsesh

I see where you're coming from. We could usually tell our lad was lying by a certain widening of the eyes and extra vehemence in his insistence. But he's getting better at it ... #TheSatSesh

Lies??? Hmm, depends. I have lied, of course, but then the little buggers lie to us too, don't forget! Sometimes we lie for good reasons, sometimes for convenience, and the odd time because we're tired! #LGRTStumble
