Oh man. I work in a museum and people touch shit all the time! The most egregious was the guy who took a War of 1812 musket out of it stand and pretended to fire it. How could someone possibly think that was ok?

If you like books about cooking and turn-of-the-century ladies, I recommend Perfection Salad! Also in that vein, Making Time: Lillian Moller Gilbreth-- A Life Beyond Cheaper by the Dozen, and More Work for Mother.

I just learned about You Must Remember This by Karina Longworth, which is about "the secret and/or forgotten histories of Hollywood's first century." I have only listened to one episode, about Frank Sinatra's 1979 space-themed album--a subject I did not expect to have any interest in--and it was great, so I think I will like others!

I grew up on Long Island, where everything north of Westchester is "Upstate." Now I live in the northernmost reaches of the North Country, and I'm like...you knew nothing of Upstate, Jon Snow.

In Franklin County, New York, there is a place called Dick's Country Store Gun City and Music Oasis. They sell guns, groceries, gas, and guitars.

Here in northern New York we also have Hannaford, but Shaw's hasn't crossed over. We also have Price Chopper, Aldi, and...that's about it for chains, but we do have a nice co-op as well as a couple of independent grocery stores and farm markets.
