HGTV Dream Home : Leaking Green Details

I was so excited to see the floorplans, and I LOVE the old claw foot tub, sans claws. Nothing like a good deep tub to soak in. I do feel a small furrow in my brow, as I am determined to move to Stowe if we win this house, but with one young child and plans for another one, I am concerned with having them on the lower level while I am enjoying the main floor. Oh well, just a minor kink to work out right??? Does anyone else get a feeling the master is accessed through a covered walkway or something similar. it is just set at an odd angle and i get the feeling it is really meant to seem like its own little baby treehouse.

HGTV Dream Home : The Architect's Inspiration

I have been away on vacation and I come back to SKETCHES!!! What a wonderful background to the inspiration for "our treehouse" I know Mary said no floorplans this week, but they HAVE to be coming, especially since we now have a vision of the outside and teasers for the inside. This Dream Home will definitley be a contrast in colors to 2010 but continuing the journey of traditions. I am thinking a ski-in gazebo would work nicely, linked to the main house through covered porches.

I am so excited about Mary's info. I have been sold since I found out it was Vermont, but when she mentioned generations of family around the table for holidays, I almost started crying. I so wish I had a house that could carry on the traditions of big holiday gatherings like I had while I was growing up. This may be all our chances to have that magical "treehouse" of a home. Happy Fourth all!

Oh I would just wander over there. I am not telling my hubby either, of course he does not know about the trip period! I have been to Franconia but not stayed there, it sounds like a wonderful trip you have planned, although I think you are mighty brave to be coming from Wyoming. We are just hiking it from PA.

I guess I am lucky enough not to have witness the ugliness I have heard others allude too, but I think having to have an account just makes sense. Thanks HGTV!

Is anyone planning a trip up there anytime soon? Very ironically my husband, about a week before the announcement, said he wanted to do a road trip to New England and I laughed, but now I am secretly planning one during his Birthday weekend in October. I am going to cheat a bit on the road trip part and fly into Manchester, NH and road trip it from there since our time is somewhat limited. I was just curious if anyone else is headed north anytime soon. Do you think we will even make it close to the site? I would be willing to be free labor!!

Thanks for all the bear news. When I was up in New England all I wanted to see was a moose...two weeks later no moose but three different bear sightings.

Newbie here but lurker for a long time. I have been following dream homes since I was in college and of course always wanted to win, but this is the first place I felt I could truly win and move to and be TOTALLY happy. I have visited New Hampshire and Vermont several times and just felt such a calming peace being up there, like I was home. Thank you for all those who have done the detective work and given us all even more insight to "our wonderful dream!"
