Star Wars: The Force Awakens has become the highest grossing film in US History. While I enjoyed the film, I think it's a bit sad. This is the first time that the #1 spot has been held by a sequel, and not an original film.

Was Gruff actually referred to by name? I missed it if he was. Might have just been another old Griffon. But I'd say the same thing. This issue might have been worked on before they had character references. I know the comic team can sometimes see scripts early, but I don't recall them ever saying they get to see episodes or art early.

Strange things are ahoof in Griffonstone... This was a cute issue. Gilda and Rarity worked better together than I would have thought. Story was sweet, but predictable. Gilda is still struggling with being nice, but she is doing quite a fine job at it. She's trying to lift spirits with her cooking, and now with Boffyball (I really want to see Boffyball in the show). She has some of that tactlessness that no doubt is what helped her become friends with Rainbow Dash. The story works quite well, and I think continues the solid streak the Friends Forever series has been on for a while. Ending of the issue, with the team being happy just to score a point reminded me of the Baseball episode of Deep Space Nine. I enjoyed the art, though if you're not a fan of Fosgitt's style, this probably won't change your feelings. It felt like he tried to do less human poses (though there are still a lot of them), the Griffons seemed to be on four legs more often. His style worked really well with the Griffons, especially Gilda who looks great in this style. I like the wide variety of body types for the griffons, something they seem to not have time to do on the show. I'm sure much blame will be laid on Fosgitt for the look of Greta (basically there's a Griffon named Greta in the issue and she looks absolutely nothing like the Greta in the show), but I hope people will keep in mind that these issues are done quite a ways in advance, and they might not have known what Greta was supposed to look like when this art was done. Also, that Gretta didn't even have a line in that episode, they might not even have known there was a Greta. Might have just used the name as a coincidence. It's unfortunate (I loved show Greta's design), but it might have just been bad timing on when this was made. So there are some flaws, but I would still call it an enjoyable issue.
