Coming into the fandom during the S3-S4 hiatus, I never got why Fallout Equestria became so popular. The idea was decent, but the original fic was hardly a masterpiece. The sex jokes were painful, there were several plot holes, "it's magic, we don't have to explain it" was the mantra of most of the technology the fic, and it was a bit too meta with characters keeping track of their item inventory and perks and items being treated in a video game fashion. Most concerning of all, it's TOO grimdark. I love the Fallout series, and was a fan long before FO3 came out. And yeah there's rape, slavery, torture, violence, etc. But there's also a sense of fun to it that keeps it from being too dark. This is a franchise that references Star Trek and Monty Python, has you talk your way past super mutants too dumb to know what you are, and has a shotgun wedding after you bang a farmer's daughter. Fallout knows how to have fun with itself. Fallout Equestria was afraid to. Unless we're making bad jokes about Littlepip being loud in bed.

The second one is The Last Roundup: the "leg servos" kick a hole in the floor and "I just don't know what went wrong." The third is Lesson Zero where a board meeting is coming up and the guy is gonna be tardy, "clock is ticking, Arlen. Clock is ticking!" Apart, sure, it's a stretch, but all three entries together? There's no doubt.

What people who are afraid they'll become pointless need to realize - when was the last time we saw an episode dedicated to them trying to get their cutie marks? The CMC episodes of Season 4 and 5 are as follows: Flight to the Finish, Twilight Time, Somepony to Watch Over Me, For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils, Bloom & Gloom, Appleloosa's Most Wanted, and Brotherhooves Social. Even back further in Season 3, One Bad Apple and Sleepless in Ponyville. The point is, while getting their cutie marks was their initial schtick, they really haven't had all that many episodes where it's the focus in the past few seasons. Going by the Wiki's list of activities they've tried, since Season 2 it's become increasingly scarce for them to try their hooves are different activities just to get a cutie mark. So, by this point, it's been quite well established their personalities and characters are more than their initial motivation. As the other cast members have, they've grown and matured beyond their simple starter's mold, and will continue to do so. This is no different than Twilicorn, who remained the perfectly adorkable bookhorse we love with a shiny new pair of wings attached, in spite of the chaos and worry over what they meant.

I don't reject this game because it isn't perfect, nor do I expect it to be. I don't reject it, period. I have no interest in it because it's a fighting game, and I don't play fighting games. That's like saying I should read fanfictions that don't personally interest me, because it may encourage the author to write one that does, or I should buy video games I don't enjoy because the developer makes other games I *do* enjoy.

I have no interest in this game, TBH. Even when it was pony; fighting games aren't my thing. Now, when they wanna develop an isometric sidescrolling beat-em-up game, call me up, I have a whole design document ready. :D
