I've never stayed in a yurt so had no idea what they would be like, but this place looks awesome! It seems surprisingly spacious and well-equipped, plus the surrounding scenery looks great to explore. How cool! #TheWeeklyPostcard
I don't know about living their as it sounds pretty tough and isolated, but I'd sure like to visit one day. I love the raw landscapes of Norway and the Arctic and have really enjoyed learning more about Svalbard through your posts.
I went sledding with huskies in Finnish lapland a few years ago and it was great fun! I didnt have to gather my own dogs though haha. Never knew you could do summer sledding but I guess the dogs need to be active then too. So much fun!
How awesome! I would love to visit Svalbard one day, it looks so wild and raw. I can understand why you need to visit in summer if that's what the weather is like. What a cool place!
The Ice Hotel has to be one of my favourite places I've ever stayed. It really is such a magical place and I wish my photos from my visit looked half as good as yours! You've nailed the look and atmosphere of the place. Thanks for bringing back such great memories of the place.
When I visited Tromso years ago, I stayed at the Smarthotel and it was really quite nice. A bit more expensive than the above though. They all look great and I do enjoy staying with Airbnb when I get a chance.
Happy Birthday indeed! So glad to be part of such a great community of bloggers sharing inspiring articles. Here's to the years to come!
This looks delicious Vanessa and so simple even I could maybe do it!
It was really nice to learn a bit more about your story moving to Tromso and the adjustments you've had to make. I found it interesting to learn of the cultural "quirks" that you came across because those are often only revealed after living in some place a while and most tourists would never learn of. I have to say that I actually really enjoyed the taste of reindeer, but not sure about it in a lasagna?! Thanks for sharing Vanessa.
