For me it's a mixture of both the overall Goodreads rating and the interest my friends show in the book. I know that the Goodreads ratings can be both over and under inflated...so I don't rely 100% on that (though it's an indicator, for sure). I will most often scroll down to see how many of my friends have added it to their to-read shelf, or rated it 3+ stars.

I worked 2 jobs for a while, and my reading dropped right off the face of the earth, lol...hopefully you'll make some time! It's a good idea leading up to Christmas, though...

I read the first book in this series, and have the second AND the novella here, but haven't picked them up. Maybe my subconscious is trying to make me wait until all the books are out so I can finish it all at once? ;) Great pick!
