Pissing on the corpses of Taliban scumbags, who shove little girls back into burning schoolhouses for being insufficiently covered, is maybe uncalled for but not something to get outraged about. The Marines will subject them to whatever disciplinary measures they've set up and that's that.

Actually, I'll count the Republic lost no matter who wins the election, because I agree with Glenn that the gubmint is too corrupt and has too much leftward inertia to be of any use.

Glenn's not looking for perfection, but he IS freaked out by how the Tea Party, who is supposedly totally anti-progressive, is fawning over A FREAKING PROGRESSIVE with an R after his name! It's not down to Newt vs. Obama yet. We can do better than Newt. We HAVE to do better than Newt. Reagan wouldn't recognize our America, so his prescriptions, which were fine for the 1980s, must be adjusted for our perilous times. Besides, Newt isn't 80% behind us. He thinks he's Hari Seldon, Galactic Historian. If elected, he'll turn on us so fast we'll think Obama's still in office.

The Left has us trained but good to react viscerally to racial talk, regardless of meaning or context. They've got us trained to think that how an utterance sounds is what an utterance means. Conservatives have got to stop using the left's assumptions about how language works: Bill Bennett, accused wrongly of racism. Rush Limbaugh, accused wrongly of "wanting the country to fail."

It looks like Beck has hired away one or more of Breitbart's people from a Big site, and Andrew is understandably feeling betrayed. So now he's looking at his past frustrations with Beck as indicative of Beck's supposed two-facedness. Alinsky was worse than a relativist. He didn't care one way or the other what the truth was, he was merely interested in the gamesmanship involved in upending a current power structure and replacing it with another one. He was well aware that the new people in power would commit the same abuses as the old people, and he didn't believe in any kind of utopia. He just dug stirring things up for the sake of stirring them up, and he was extremely good at it, and furthermore, he may have dedicated his book to Lucifer but he didn't believe in any devil or god apart from his own cleverness. And yes, he would have had little use for true-believing ideologues like Shabazz or anyone else like that.
