Good luck! My weight tends to change, but I know it's too high when my blood pressure starts going up... Plus, you will be setting a great example for your children!

They can keep their Barbie, as long as they make round and freckled and old dolls as well. (I think that is my real problem with this. Barbie is boring.)

Hmm, I guess I never really thought about it. I don't blog to be "successful" - simply because I like it. And I do not think I have ever used a blog button to find something new. I am way more likely to look up people who write interesting comments (either on my blogs or elsewhere.

Nope, I don't veil. I also have no ceremonial dress or anything like that. I have read a bit about this practice, though, and think the decision to veil (or not to) should be respected. Especially since I work with a bunch of Muslim women covering their hair who are everything but subjugated. ^^

I believe that all the possible cures in the world - including Western medicine - have been given to us by the Divine to be used wisely. I have not used anything but some aspirin and my thyroid meds in ages, but this is not because I am against Western medicine, but simply because I hardly ever become seriously ill.

I would love to do mirror magick, but I am afraid I never spent much time on learning the basics of anything, so I suck at learning stuff that is not kind of a natural talent.

First of all, Magaly is right. Being sad and stressed out is just a part of life.

Second, some time back I read an article by a well-known German witch on the big lie of being completely in charge of our own destiny, and I think she is right. Being told that all we need is some positive thinking and energy-channeling to turn our lives around 180° puts just so much pressure on us all. Think about it, according to that special mindset everything that ever happens in your life would be your fault, and yours alone. Some things are just plain out of our control, and not in a non-witchy passive way. It just means that you are not the only person responsible for the things happening in your life. (How you react to them, on the other hand, is completely up to you.)

By the way, every year when spring arrives and at the beginning of fall I get the urge to just leave everything behind... maybe there's still a part bird in us humans?

Maye you can learn how to better shield yourself. It takes some time - I do not see anything, just "know" or get a feeling for emotions and such, and when I am not careful, I soak them up. I always have to remember to shield, ground and center myself before interacting with others.
