Sounds good to me. Overworking yourself too much isn't good and your mental health needs to be a priority. Plus, it'll make it easier for me to keep up with the group (despite my intentions, life has been making me fall behind on watching the B5 videos).

Also, Doctor Who sounds exciting, since I stopped keeping up after Series 8.

I think that the thing to bear in mind is that the Bechdel-Wallace test is only really useful in aggregate. It doesn't say a single work is sexist if it fails, but looking at the fail rates within a larger category of works can be insightful about how well that category does gender representation, especially when compared with rates for the reverse test (if representation were even within that category, these numbers should be roughly the same).

So, you're right that a failed test doesn't mean a failed episode, but the number of failed episodes does seem pretty disappointing, at least to me. (I figured B5 would do better than it has).

Well said on all of this. My feelings are pretty similar. I might add that they just kind of took the name "Muay Thai", a real Thai sport and just used it as "exotic alien boxing". This is one of the best episodes of S1 interspersed with a weird insensitive mess.

Babylon 5 is really good at finding good actors to play creepy, sleazy and/or unsettling characters. So far, we have had Del Verner(the Gathering), the Soul Hunter, both Psi Cops (Mind War), Roberts and Malcolm Biggs (War Prayer), Knight One and Two (And the Sky Full of Stars), Deathwalker, Orin Zento (By any Means Neccesary) and Mordin (Signs and Portents). More arguably, you might also count Kosh, Trakis(Born to the Purple), Dr. Vance Hendricks (Infection) and Tu'Pari (Parliament of Dreams). That;s 11-15 in 14 episodes.

As for the episode itself, all I can say is

Due to the ambiguity of tone in text, I'm not sure if your first sentence is supposed to be sarcastic/aggressive or not. If it is, and I've done something to give offense, I apologize.

Absolutely none of my post disproves the existence of souls as posited by Soul Hunter. All I was saying was that the episode didn't really provide strong evidence any which way. It's absolutely a possibility, but it's clear that, given Dr. Franklin's worldview, the experiences of Soul Hunter did not convince him that it was likely the parents here were right. I was just saying that I don't think that was a completely ridiculous attitude or that he was actively ignoring relevant information from Soul Hunter.
