Wow. A potential job overseas! How exciting. What a blessing it is to have more than one door open!

Your post reminded me of the years I danced ballet (a long time ago). Whenever we would do spins, we were always instructed to keep our eyes focused on a "spot" somewhere in the room. We called it "spotting." The same idea applies spiritually too ... keeping our eyes fixed on Him, while the rest of the world spins.

I'm so glad to hear that your husband has made a recovery. A reason to give thanks for sure! Praise God!

Lisa, my heart resonates with you. I pray that I will be the church God has called us to be.

"a gift broken: church"

Wow. This is so true. Sad but true. But I appreciate the way you remind us that the church, even with all of its hurtful flaws, is still His gift to us.

I do love the prayers of simplicity. Simple words. Honest heart. And I appreciate the way you distinguish between being "emotional" and being "passionate." These are two sometimes similar, yet also distinct attributes.

"Was I still frustrated? Very. But not at my husband. He had stood up for the concerns we’d spent hours discussing. He showed clarity of thought. Care. Courage. I respect that."

Oh, Lisa, these words, and this entire post, speak to me deeply. My husband (his name is Jeff too) has recently navigated a most tenuous issue at church, which wasn't resolved in the manner in which we believed to be "best," but the whole thing renewed my respect for my husband all over again at the wise, insightful, yet tender way he handled it all.

Praise God for the husband's He provides to guide and protect.

Oh my goodness, I just saw this book on Amazon's top-selling list yesterday. I am so interested. Yes, I am very much an introvert. I love your recap here. I can't wait to read the rest. Thanks!
