Excellent addition! It really fills the story in nicely but also leaves room for more.

Good lesson! Self love is most important and the hardest one to learn.

Cinnamon just smells like comfort and home. Good way to chase away the funkies :)

Several bloggers have peeked into my brain the last week or so. You just did it again. I'm digging my way out of a spell of non-writing because I wasn't getting that little brain tickle that flowed into words. The last two lines are written so perfectly! So, wow! Great job!

Living with my hubs who has major depression & PTSD I got it as mental health metaphor and yes she is a bitch.

Jess, you've captured a dinosaur and much more here. I read it metaphorically and it works so well that way.

A wise lesson to pass on. One we can all pick up and carry anytime. He may not appreciate it now, but in time he will. And he is just cute as a bug!

Makes my heart race! You really killed this. Pun both intended and unintended.

You got me. This is such a sweet, beautifully sentimental post. Brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for sharing this.

I'm linking up the first post I wrote about a character, Emma. Her story has become somewhat episodic as I've devoted quite a few posts to her and she has her own page on my blog. I'm very proud of the piece and was very humbled at the responses and comments I received. It affirmed my decision to have a public blog and to write fiction and it has the second highest number of views.

I like to think I measure my writing ability based on what I like, but in all honesty, when someone likes what I've written I know I've done it right. I'm not just talking about the platitude comments, I'm talking about the genuine "likes" with reasons. The best I felt after writing something was when my husband (who also aspires to be a writer) told me, and posted in a comment "There are only a few times I’ve really been stunned by a line in something I read, and this is one. So, congrats, out of the zillions of things I’ve read in my LONG life, you get one of the “wow” moments."
